SAWIS Certification

All our wines are SAWIS certified. But what does that exactly mean?

SAWIS stands for the South African Wine Industry Information & Systems. It is a  regulatory body that oversees the wine industry in South Africa. SAWIS has been established to maintain the integrity of the wine industry, to provide accurate information, and to ensure that wines comply with international standards.

Our wines have been certified by SAWIS, meaning they have undergone rigorous testing and analysis to ensure they meet the highest quality standards. SAWIS certification covers every aspect of the wine production process, from the grapes used to make the wine to the bottling and labeling process.

As a customer, when you purchase a SAWIS-certified wine, you can be assured that the wine has been made with the highest quality grapes and that it has been produced and bottled to the highest international standards. SAWIS certification provides you with the peace of mind that the wine you are drinking is of the highest quality.

OVP (Old Vine Project) Certification

In addition to our SAWIS certification, we are proud to say that our Chenin Blanc has also been OVP certified (Certified Heritage Vines). The OVP certification is another quality assurance program that was established by the South African wine industry to ensure the authenticity and quality of our Chenin Blanc wines.

OVP stands for Old Vine Project, which is a non-profit organization that promotes and celebrates old vineyards in South Africa. The OVP certification is awarded to wines made from vines that are at least 35 years old, and that have been registered with the organization.

Our Chenin Blanc has been certified by OVP, which means that the grapes used to make this wine were grown in old vineyards that are at least 35 years old. These old vines have deeper root systems and produce lower yields of grapes, resulting in wines that are more concentrated in flavor and character.

The OVP certification also provides consumers with a guarantee that the wine they are purchasing is made from grapes that are of the highest quality and have been sourced from old vineyards. This certification is an indication of the passion and commitment that we have toward producing wines that are of the highest quality.
