ZULU CONTESSA Red Blend 2020
Coming soon this winter! Follow us on Instagram for updates.
Cultivar:
71% Cabernet Sauvignon, 20% Petit Verdot, 9% Cabernet Franc.
Winemakers Note:
The colour of the wine is deep red with a slight brick red rim. There are an explosion of cherries, violets, black current and herbs on the nose with whiff of vanilla on the aftertaste. The wine is sturdy and well-structured tannin and complex, on the taste.
Wine of origin:
Coastal Region, South Africa.
Vinification:
The grapes used for this eclectic blend were predominantly sourced from the Franschhoek and Stellenbosch regions. The vineyards were selected based on their record of producing high-quality grapes.
The grapes were hand-harvested and sorted at the winery to exclude green or rotten berries. Fermentation on the skins and regular pump-overs produce good colour extraction and elegant tannins. The wine is matured in 2nd-fill French oak barrels for 36 months.
Food pairing:
This wine will pair well with a venison steak, braized lamb shank, pizza, pulled
pork or cheeseburgers.
